Modified plastic injection molds are often made of tool steel. During work, they are exposed to corrosive gases, water and other chemical substances that cause rust. Plastic parts made from rusted grinding tools may cause product quality problems and must be removed. The following is a detailed introduction to the causes of rust in modified plastic injection molds and cleaning methods from three aspects: the air caused by melt dissolution, the cooling water in the mold, and the cementite produced during molding.
1. Air generated by melt dissolution: Some materials produce volatile vapors when heated, and many materials also produce volatile vapors when overheated. These vapors are often corrosive, and they permeate around the equipment. When grinding When the tools are not working, they will corrode the grinding tools. For this matter, when the equipment stops working, use a soft rag to clean the grinding tool and close it. If it is not used for a long time, spray anti-rust oil into the mold cavity and apply it when closing the grinding tool. Unsalted butter, seal the glue inlet.
2. Cooling circulating water in the grinding mold: There are many channels of cooling circulating water in the grinding mold for cooling, so there is more water vapor around the equipment. If the mold is cooled below the dew point, the moisture in the air will form water droplets on the surface of the die-casting mold. If not wiped in time, it will easily rust. Especially after the grinding tool stops working, condensation will quickly occur. Therefore, it is not necessary to stop the forming at will. Even if it is stopped, the cooling circulating water needs to be turned off and the mold must be wiped.
3. Cementite that occurs during forming: After the abrasive tool is used for a long time, the forming raw materials volatilize and dissolve to form cementite, which often causes the abrasive tool to be damaged, corroded or rusted. Regarding this matter, if you see cementite forming, you should immediately wipe it off with a dry rag and wipe it clean.
